The course shows how to make a curriculum more fun and engaging through the use of
picture books.
We will explore picture books to explain literary concepts such as foreshadowing, alliteration, irony,
problem-solving, inference, and more.
Picture books to improve emotional health by addressing anger, bullying, anxiety, grief, gender
identity, and more.
The second half of the course shifts to using picture books to teach creative writing to demonstrate
concepts such as voice, plot, character development, and setting.
